The city of Zadar, situated on a narrow peninsula on the Adriatic Sea and the Zadar Channel, is separated from the mainland by a moat.

Zadar was until 1873 a fortress. The city has a large port, four doors, nd consists of four districts. The majority of the old town of Zadar has Venetian architectural style. The most famous attraction is the famous Sea Organ, which is powered solely by the energy of the Adriatic waves.
